Volkswagen commences production of ID.4 electric SUV

 Volkswagen has commenced the production of brand’s first full-electric SUV, ID.4

Volkswagen has dropped multiple teasers of the all new electric SUV, ID.4. According to the latest update by the German automaker, the ID.4 will be revealed in a matter of weeks.

The production version of the new Volkswagen ID.4 will be revealed in US first. The ID.4 is being launched as a part of a worldwide strategy to deliver millions of EVs to help combat global climate change.

Volkswagen is also aiming to change the trend in the US market with the new ID.4. EV supplies have been limited to either specific states or to the luxury segment alone.

The ID.4 compact SUV is claimed to be an affordable EV and it is also the first in line of EVs being launched in US.

Ralf Brandst?tter, CEO of the Volkswagen brand, said, “Following the ID.3, this is already the second model based on the modular electric drive matrix (MEB). Going forward, the car will be built and sold in Europe, in China, and later also in the USA. That is how we are scaling the MEB platform globally and laying the economic foundations for the success of our ID. family.”
